Woman’sBack® was created with one clear mission: to empower women to live active, unrestricted lives after breast cancer. Their backpacks are the first in the world specifically designed to reduce the risk of lymphedema following breast surgery.

The idea came from Maria Prandi, a lifelong mountaineer diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After treatment, she wanted to return to the mountains—but couldn’t find a backpack that wouldn’t put pressure on her affected side. So, in collaboration with Esportiva Aksa, she designed one. That idea grew into a patented innovation: a backpack with a unique three-step closure system that allows safe weight-bearing while relieving pressure on the treated area.

Originally developed and adapted in Spain, each Woman’sBack® backpack is customised for the side of surgery—left or right—and has also proven helpful for people with pacemakers, shoulder injuries, or recovering from heart procedures.
